_PM-Emission |
| |
Description
PM-Emission is a compact tool for the complete electro-optical characterization of any light emitting source e.g. LEDs, OLEDs and Lasers. It offers fast and accurate measurement of a wide variety of radiometric, photometric, colorimetric and efficiency parameters of various light emitting sources.
With various fixture types, light sampling options and electrical probing accessories, PM-Emission can accommodate light emitting devices manufactured in any of the commercial standard packages or as experimental samples.
The Use of an integrating sphere allows for efficient light collection while the measurements are not affected from device’s emission angle distribution characteristics. Alternative light sampling configurations can be implemented to meet other than standard measurements requirements. |
|
|
| PM-Emission characterization tool comes with the suitable external source-measurement instrument that combines best of both output power rating and accuracy needs for each application. However, PM-Emission can be customized to support instruments that customer may already have.
Each PM-Emission tool is calibrated throughout the visible spectrum as this is an essential element for the type of measurements this system performs (absolute irradiance), compensating native non-linearities such as optical fiber attenuation, grating spectral efficiency, CCD array spectral sensitivity etc. Calibration data are unique for each tool and are provided with the Emission Monitor®, the especially developed software for the control of PM-Emission tool. |

Software
Emission Monitor® is the software that comes with the system. It performs the electrical and spectral data acquisition, controlling accurately the power supplied to the Device Under Test (DUT) through its interface with external source-meter instrument. Therefore, user can perform sweep tests throughout the desired voltage or current range. Combining both the electrical and spectral measurements of DUT, user has access to very critical performance parameters like external quantum efficiency, luminous efficiency etc. Taking into account factors like luminosity and color weighting functions, Emission-Monitor calculates the photometric and colorimetric parameters of the DUT. Device’s performance is available in real time through a user friendly interface while the acquired data are stored for your records, or for further processing. The entire system (hardware – software): spectrometer, optical fiber, integrating sphere, sample stage, GPIB interface, source-meter instrument and LabVIEW™ software is shipped ready for measurements. The only additional part needed is a PC with a free USB port. The system can be easily used by anyone with basic computer skills without any deep knowledge of spectral processing. |
